Discover the Largest Protected Flooded Forest in the World
The Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve, spanning 1,124,000 hectares, stands as a crucial conservation unit nestled between the Solimões, Japurá, and Auti-Paraná rivers.
As the largest protected flooded forest globally, this reserve plays a vital role in safeguarding the unique ecosystem that constitutes only 4% of the Brazilian Amazon – the freshwater swamp forest.
The Mamirauá Institute, supervised by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, spearheads research, management, and social development programs while supporting the conservation efforts of the Mamirauá Reserve.
Uacari Lodge – Your Sustainable Retreat in Nature
Floating serenely on the waters, the Uacari Lodge comprises five bungalows, each housing two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
With balconies overlooking the river and the forest, the lodge accommodates 20 people in total. Its central floating area encompasses a small deck, kitchen, restaurant, bar, video room, and library, all operating sustainably with solar energy, rainwater collection, and proper effluent treatment.
The lodge’s menu blends Brazilian and regional cuisines, featuring fresh seasonal fruits, beiju, homemade bread, and delightful Amazonian dishes.
